Emergency Planning Chesterfields Emergency
Management Team consists of the Selectmen, Police, Public Works, both Fire
Departments and Health personnel along with volunteers who co-ordinate resources for
any emergency that may arise. Chesterfield
School is now equipped with a generator, enabling the school to be used as an emergency
shelter. Public notifications are explained by

radios, which are available at the Town Office. In the past, there was some flooding which affected several property owners. Most of these property owners were NOT in the National Flood Insurance Program flood plain. All homeowners, whether or not you are in the flood plain are eligible for flood insurance. You need to contact your insurance agent for more information about this program as damage from flooding is not automatically covered in your homeowners policy. There has been many news articles recently regarding the avian and pandemic flu. The U.S. Government has set up a website that is very informative www.pandemicflu.gov. On that website, you can find information on how the State and Federal governments are making plans in the event of an outbreak in the United States. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the latest news on the pandemic flu and what you can do to prepare and protect yourself. |
